Vol 35 Winslow Manor Court Books Part 1 1327-1377.
The records of the Manor Court that have survived as Court rolls are not the original but extracts. The original is believed to have been destroyed in 1381 in St Albans during the peasant revolt. The rolls are by the same person and kept at Cambridge University Library. Detail includes jurors, property transactions, tenant’s deaths, marriage payments. Between 1351 and 1377, villains and fugitives – i.e. people leaving the manor without permission are recorded but not thereafter. Index of persons and places included.
