Mr Slingerland at 81years completed an auto biography of his life as a hairdresser and second generation immigrant from Holland living in Buckinghamshire for 58years. He moved to Beaconsfield in 1935 where he set up his hairdressers became a councillor and became the president of the towns Chamber of Commerce
