Three articles relating to Hampden and the Civil war
Three articles stuck on to each other and a piece of A4 paper. They detail John Hampden and his involvement with battling Charles I in the Battle of Aylesbury in 1642 where Prince Rupert and his troups were chased away by Balfour and Hampdens armies. He died in 1643 in the Battle of Chalgrove Field in Oxfordshire, aged 49years. A statue was erected in his hounour in central Aylesbury in 1912.
