Farms

Records show that originally there were over thirty farms and holdings in the area and although some are still extant, albeit greatly changed, many  such as Wattleton, Ledborough, Hunts, Gotts, Bull, Shepherds, Bullocks Acre and Knotty Green have completely disappeared.  Yet plenty still live on preserved as house names, road names or districts. Although some farms take their names from topographical features, most of named after particularly important tenants or owners.
