Hand written account about pupils and life at Doeleys Little School which was in a flat above Marshalls shop in Maxwell Road, presided over by Doeley and Captain Henry Whyham (known as Uncle Harry). It had formally been in the old vicarage in Penn. It only had one class and in it was Deborah Boucher, Joe Kane, Mariska Reith (daughter of Sir John Reith), Charmain and Audrey Rissick (twins), Petecia (Teccie) Rose, and Patsy Green. Mention of students Mention of Dirk Bogarde moving in to Drummers Yard which was where Charmain and Audrey Rissick lived

I am Doeley`s eldest granddaughter, being the daughter of her son Geoffrey. I was at Oakdene from 1952-8. I well remember the excitement when Dirk Bogarde moved into town!`Granny was friends with our headmistress Miss Farish – so not saying I received favouritism……
