A photocopy of an extract of a manuscript entitled 'Burke's "character" of his future wife'.

The manuscript describes Burke’s “idea of a woman” traditionally believed to be that of Jane Nugent whom he married in 1756. The original manuscript was sold at Sotheby’s for £3,500 in 1996.
