The seventeenth century trade tokens of Beaconsfield
Due to a chronic shortage of change Trade tokens were produced. Typed notes about 15000 tokens were produced between 1648-1672. 230 different tokens are known to be issued in the county of Buckinghamshire 6 were known in Beaconsfield. Only two are dated happeny 1668 and 1669 and both are made of brass. A local coinage/ street or very close proximity.
