Heralding the news for 150 years
Article detailing the 150 years of the production of The Herald including a black and white photograph of Aylesbury high street with cattle! First published in Aylesbury in January 1832 it had several items of local interest. Including suicide by the local vicar and the verdict lunacy. Stealing of a shift gained 6 months hard labour whilst stealing a dead body gained 9 months imprisonment. The Farmers Journal and Advertising Chronicle became known as the Bucks Herald. Note is made that in the first centenary of the Heralds publication it was felt that life had changed faster than at any time before.
